NBA Player Development:Atlas Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how NBA Player Development ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you use our website, "The Atlas," located at https://atlas.nbaplayerdev.com/ (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect a single piece of personal information from you: your mobile phone number. Your number may already be on file, because the NBA provides the player roster that determines who is eligible to use the Service.

2. How We Collect Your Information

We collect your mobile phone number directly from you when you enter it and opt in via the login form on our website. To use the Service, you must check a box agreeing to the statement: "I agree to receive text messages from Atlas, including login verification codes and reminders about required activities." Checking that box is how you consent to receive the text messages described in Section 3.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your mobile phone number only to send you text messages relating to the Service. Those messages fall into three categories:

  • Login verification codes: When you wish to access the site, we send a one-time verification code via SMS to your provided mobile number. You must enter this code on the website to gain access.
  • Event reminders: Reminders about the conference agenda — sessions, breakouts, and changes to the schedule.
  • Required-activity notifications: Notifications about activities you are asked to complete, such as a survey that opens once a session you attended has finished.

4. Message Frequency and Rates

Message frequency varies. Login verification codes are sent only when you request one by logging in. Event reminders and required-activity notifications are sent as the schedule requires while the conference is running, and continue on an occasional basis after it ends, for as long as your Atlas account stays active. Message and data rates may apply.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We share your mobile phone number only as far as is necessary to deliver the text messages described above: with our SMS delivery provider, and with the mobile carriers that transmit each message to your device. We do not sell your mobile phone number.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.

6. Your Rights and Choices (Opt-Out and Help Instructions)

You have the right to control the messages you receive from us.

  • Opting Out of Text Messages: You can opt out of receiving SMS messages from us at any time by replying "STOP" to any message you receive. This stops every text message from Atlas, including your login verification codes — which means you will not be able to log in to the Service while you are opted out. Reply "START" to opt back in.
  • Getting Help: Reply "HELP" to any message for assistance, or contact us at sgarbarino@nba.com.
  • Accessing, Correcting, or Deleting Your Information: You may request to access, correct, or completely delete your personal information from our systems. To do so, please contact us at sgarbarino@nba.com. Requesting complete removal will revoke your ability to log in and use the Atlas website.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

9. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at: sgarbarino@nba.com.
